Audiobooks
Audiobook narration requires a blend of stamina and skill, whether you’re negotiating the dozens of characters in a literary classic or giving deep insight into the latest developments of AI.
I have narrated over fifty audiobooks from my home studio as well as at various studios around the UK. My narration work has been nominated for multiple Voice Arts and One Voice awards. I’m equally happy self recording or being directed live and am adept at punch and roll when preferred.
Clients include: Penguin Random House, Harper Audio, Podium Entertainment, Hachette, Spotify Audiobooks, Blackstone, Tantor, High Gravity Productions and Game Workshop’s Black Library.
I have a particular passion for classical literature, science fiction. fantasy and romance, but also adore getting to learn about new topics through biography and history books. I am also a massive Warhammer fan.
Whether you’re an established publisher looking for just the performance or a self published author looking for full production, I can scale my offer to suit your needs.
I am also open to leveraging my following of over half a million across all social platforms to help publicise your title.

Why is human narration important for audiobooks?
To make an audiobook compelling, you don’t just need a nice sounding voice. If that were the case, then the audiobook industry would be dominated by a clutch of AI voices trained on your favourite celebrities.
A good voice (human or AI) might initially hook you into listening, but without INTENT behind the delivery, they soon become trapped into the same rhythms and inflections. Fundamentally, stories need to have cognition in order to become compelling. An audiobook narrator is a PERFORMER. Someone who knows when to tease, how to create intrigue, escalate drama, evoke pathos and suspense. That is what Chris - through his three years of actor training and decade long acting career - brings to every audiobook.
Why choose a British audiobook narrator?
As already featured on this page, Chris deploys a range of accents and character techniques to suit the demands of every audiobook project he works on. But his native British RP accent exudes a level of natural authority, sophistication and articulacy which is invaluable for non-fiction books in particular. Every performer is aware of the cultural connotations associated with their native accent, and it is for these projects that he leans into these qualities.
